Direct Admission Programs (4+3 Bachelor's/J.D.)

Stetson University College of Law has partnered with several institutions to offer Direct Admission opportunities, commonly known as 4+3 programs.

Students who meet program requirements are automatically admitted to Stetson's J.D. program upon completion of their bachelor's degree. Students admitted under these agreements will receive a generous partial tuition scholarship.

Eckerd College

Requirements:

  1. Be a student in any major at Eckerd College who has completed at least 90 semester hours of coursework, with at least 30 semester hours completed through Eckerd College;
  2. Complete all requirements for the Eckerd College Bachelor's degree before matriculating at the College of Law;
  3.  Earn a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.3 in courses taken at Eckerd College;
  4. Earn a minimum score on the LSAT at the 50th percentile of the most recent class to matriculate at the College of Law;
  5. Apply to the College of Law for admission into the full-time J.D. program between October 1 and May 15 in the academic year before the student intends to begin J.D. study; and
  6. Meet the College of Law's character and fitness requirements and comply with the College of Law's general admissions policies.

University of South Florida (for Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota-Manatee campuses)

Preference will be given to students in the Judy Genshaft Honors College on any of the three USF campuses, although high-performing USF students who are not in the Honors College, but who meet or exceed the criteria for consideration, may be eligible for the 4+3 program. Students interested in this provision are required to meet with the Honors College Dean or Director at their campus for advising regarding their eligibility for the direct admission program.

Requirements:

  1. Be a student in any major at USF, who has completed at least 75% of the semester hours required for their degree;
  2. Complete all requirements for the Bachelor’s degree before matriculating at the College of Law;
  3. Earn a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5 in courses taken at USF;
  4. Earn a minimum score on the LSAT at the 50th percentile of the most recent class to matriculate at the College of Law;
  5. Apply to the College of Law for admission into the full-time J.D. program between October 1 and May 15 in the academic year before the student intends to begin J.D. study; and
  6. Meet the College of Law's character and fitness requirements and comply with the College of Law's general admissions policies.

University of West Florida

Requirements:

  1. Be a student in any major at UWF who has completed at least 90 semester hours of coursework;
  2. Complete all requirements for the UWF Bachelor's degree before matriculating at the College of Law;
  3. Earn a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.3 in courses taken at UWF;
  4. Earn a minimum score on the LSAT at the 50th percentile of the most recent class to matriculate at the College of Law;
  5. Apply to the College of Law for admission into the full-time J.D. program between October 1 and May 15 in the academic year before the student intends to begin J.D. study; and
  6. Meet the College of Law's character and fitness requirements and comply with the College of Law's general admissions policies.
