Congratulations to our graduates! We will be streaming three ceremonies on May 14 at the following times
- 8:30 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.
- 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- 12:00 p.m. – 12:45 p.m.
The graduating classes included in commencement will be May/August 2022, and several December 2021 graduates.
The commencement plans are contingent upon Pinellas County and the State of Florida’s COVID-19 status and is subject to change at any point between now and May 14, 2022.

2022 Commencement Speaker
Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Donald M. Remy
The Honorable Donald M. Remy was nominated by President Joseph R. Biden to serve as Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs. He was subsequently confirmed by the United States Senate on July 15, 2021 and was sworn in as the 9th Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs by Secretary Denis McDonough on July 19, 2021.
During his confirmation hearing before the U.S. Senate Committee on Veterans, Deputy Secretary Remy said, “I have been given a clear mission by Secretary McDonough to use all my experience, skills, and leadership capabilities as the Department’s chief operating and management officer to help nurture a culture of excellence and motivate those around me to deliver on our shared values… There is no greater mission than the mission to serve our Veterans.”
Prior to this role, Mr. Remy was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Legal Officer at the nonprofit National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), where he worked to improve legal, business, and operational strategies for the $1 billion enterprise.
As partner and global practice group chair in the Law Firm of Latham & Watkins, he represented clients in complex investigations and compliance matters. Mr. Remy also handled class action litigation at the Law Firm of O’Melveny & Myers. He was Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer at Fannie Mae, where his last assignment was handling community development after Hurricane Katrina.
Mr. Remy’s past government experience includes serving as Assistant to the General Counsel for the U.S. Army.
A veteran himself from a family with a long tradition of military service, Mr. Remy was a Captain in the Army. He has said his family “would not be where it is but for the Department of Veterans Affairs.”
Mr. Remy earned his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law.
