Fundamentals of Arbitration Advocacy Certificate Program
Designed by the American Arbitration Association® (AAA) and Stetson University College of Law, this three-week online course equips litigators with the skills to succeed in arbitration. The program is ideal for new attorneys and those with little to no arbitration experience. Participants gain knowledge, strategic insights, and personalized feedback from experienced arbitrators and legal faculty.
Upon completion of the course, students will earn both a certificate and a digital badge to showcase their skills.
Taking this course will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the AAA arbitration process and how it differs from trial litigation, while building practical skills to navigate filing, arbitrator selection, and preliminary hearings using AAA Rules. This course will guide you through developing effective pre-hearing strategies, preparing witnesses, managing logistics, and delivering persuasive opening statements and summations.
You'll also sharpen your advocacy techniques through practice with direct and cross-examinations, real-time responses to arbitrator questions, and analysis of sample strategies to enhance your own performance.
This dynamic three-week online course offers flexible, self-paced modules designed to fit your schedule while delivering high-impact learning. Participants will:
- Engage with short, expert-led video lessons from AAA professionals and legal advocacy educators
- Sharpen your skills through interactive exercises in opening, direct, cross-examination and summation
- Receive personalized feedback via recorded performance reviews
With live Zoom office hours and instruction from experienced AAA-ICDR arbitrators and Stetson Law faculty, this course provides a rich, supportive environment to elevate your arbitration advocacy skills.
