Academic Success - Program Descriptions

The faculty at Stetson Law is committed to assisting students in their development of academic skills. During each students' first semester, workshops are offered to teach skills for success, including critical reading and thinking, rule synthesis, outlining, legal analysis and exam preparation. In addition, the program director and staff meets with students to review case briefs, outlines, and responses to practice exam questions.

Academic Success Workshops

During the Fall Semester, the Academic Success Program offers a series of four workshops to equip students with the skills and strategies they will need to achieve their personal best on exams.

Any first-year student may attend any Academic Success Workshop.  Although workshop attendance is voluntary, the Program requests you to R.S.V.P. whether you plan to attend each of the four classes so the Program can ensure everyone who participates receives materials.

The workshops cover topics that include time management, issue spotting, outlining strategies, exam preparation strategies, and practice exam questions. The workshops use material covered in students' doctrinal courses.  Students will also receive direct feedback on their work product.
