• Alumnus and actor Ted Cassidy, who played Lurch in the TV series “The Addams Family” as well as other television and film roles, was profiled in the Aug. 6 article, “The Lurch Bench: Theodore Crawford ‘Ted’ Cassidy AKA ‘Lurch,’ ” on the website of the Historical Marker Database. “If I’m up for a part, if I’m asked to do something, I really worry what I’m going to be because they always make fellows like me the big dumb galoot, the oaf who doesn’t know anything, who trips over himself,” the late Cassidy said in an interview on the site. “But I won’t do it anymore. I turn down everything that comes along like that.”

• Stetson Law student Edson Abadia Jr. was profiled in the Aug. 4 story, “Stetson Law Student Plays with Fire,” in the Gulfport Gabber.
