Safer Stetson Updates

Isolation Guides for Students

Stetson is supporting students in isolation in a variety of ways. As we have learned, once students know that they need to isolate, the process for what that looks like comes with many questions. We now have guides tailored to support both the resident and commuter experiences. These guides also are helpful to the larger community to answer questions regarding student isolation.

Dining Services

Additional Dining Seating. Additional seating has been made available to guests on the Libby Lawn, at the North side of the Carlton Union Building and close to the Dupont-Ball Library. This seating offers great views of campus while also allowing our dining guests to enjoy their meal, as there is still limited seating in the dining locations.

Faculty, Staff in Lynn Commons. Stetson Dining will be allowing faculty and staff back into the Lynn Commons for access to the To-Go Highlights station, starting Monday, Sept. 7. Traffic in the space has been manageable during our COVID precautions, and the To-Go station has been a great quick-service station for guests. The To-Go Highlights station is located between the deli and grill and features some favorites from the menu that day. This station is meant to be a one-stop shop where you can get your entire meal, to limit exposure and get through lines quickly. Due to sanitation standards during COVID-19, use of our eco-clamshells are still on pause, so items from the To-Go Highlights station will be served in disposable containers. Stetson Dining asks that if you have any questions or concerns, please email Taylor Mills at [email protected].

Boost Mobile Ordering. Monday, Sept. 7, Boost Mobile Ordering will be live on Stetson’s campus for credit card and Hatterbuck purchases. Although we have encountered issues with releasing Boost Mobile Ordering with the capability of utilizing Hatterbucks, we want to launch this program for our community. Stetson Dining is working diligently with the app developers to include meal-exchange ordering through the app. Stay tuned to Stetson Dining on Instagram for more information as those options become available.

Stetson Remains in Tier 1

Stetson University is committed to a safe environment that fosters collaborative learning and intellectual pursuits for its community. As a reminder, Stetson continues to be Tier 1 and requires face coverings while on campus, as well as physical distancing of 6 feet. See the policy.

Due to NCAA rules and guidance, Stetson Athletics has its own tiers system outlined in its Plan for Resocialization of Sports. Specific details are available, beginning on Page 14. We encourage all Hatters to DO THEIR PART to keep Hatters healthy and Stetson safe. For the latest COVID-19 tracking data, visit Safer Stetson’s test results page.

Social Gatherings During Tier 1

As a reminder, social gatherings during Tier 1 should use virtual platforms as much as possible. They are limited to essential groups and gatherings — up to 10 people at outdoor venues only. Masks should always be worn, and physical distancing guidance also apply.

Rapid Antigen Testing on Campus

Through our partnership with AdventHealth and CentraCare, Stetson is offering free rapid antigen COVID-19 testing every other week on-campus. Testing takes place 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Rinker Field House at the Hollis Center and is available to students and employees. This testing is not mandatory, but highly encouraged for the safety and wellbeing of the entire Stetson Community. Sign up for testing here.

Appointments are scheduled one testing date at a time. Testing dates are Tuesdays, Sept. 22, Oct. 6 and Oct. 20; and Wednesdays, Nov. 4 and Nov. 18.

Stetson’s Safer Campus Task Force is happy to announce an additional rapid antigen testing date on campus. In collaboration with the DeLand Wellness Center, testing will be offered on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. These rapid antigen human finger-stick (capillary) tests are free for students and employees and results come back in 15 minutes. Some students and employees may prefer the finger-stick test to the nasal swab testing method. Sign up here for your appointment!
