• Stetson University student Hannah Churms was featured April 21 in the West Volusia Beacon story, “Young DeLandite home after harsh COVID battle,” about her recovery from coronavirus.

Stetson University and The Pargh Foundation provided free meals to say thank you to health care workers.

• WOFL Fox Channel 35 and WOGX mentioned Stetson University and The Pargh Foundation for providing free meals to area hospital workers in the story, “Stetson University Thanks Hospital Workers.” Also, “Meals for Healthcare Workers” on WFTV Channel 9 WRDQ mentioned Stetson University and The Pargh Foundation.

• Stetson University was mentioned in “Michael Waltz: Colleges and Universities in Northeast Florida District Getting $25 Million in Stimulus Funds,” on April 20 in Florida Daily. The Daytona Beach News-Journal also mentioned in an April 23 story that Stetson University will receive $3,578,583, with about half going to aid students.

• Professor of Psychology Christopher Ferguson, PhD, was quoted in TIME on April 23 in the article, “I’m Gaming My Way Through Quarantine — and That’s Nothing to Feel Guilty About.” Ferguson said children and adults need to make time to exercise and get their work and chores done. “As long as that’s all checked off, there are honestly no maximum limits on video game time, particularly as right now there might not be much else to do,” he said.

• Law Professor Ciara Torres-Spelliscy was part of a bipartisan, diverse group of leading scholars and thinkers in law, technology, politics and media that released a report, Fair Elections During a Crisis: Urgent Recommendations in Law, Media, Politics, and Tech to Advance the Legitimacy of, and the Public’s Confidence in, the November 2020 U.S. Elections. The Ad Hoc Committee for 2020 Election Fairness and Legitimacy recommends specific actions that should be taken now to minimize the chances of an election meltdown in November. News of the report appeared in a variety of media outlets, including Yahoo Finance and the Election Law Blog.

• Stetson College of Law placed second in the Top Ten ABA Competition Law Schools by points, according to an April 29 announcement. The Competitions Champion goes to the school who earns the most points from competing in all four ABA Law Student Division competitions combined: the Arbitration Competition, Negotiation Competition, Client Counseling Competition, and National Appellate Advocacy Competition. • Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management Juanne Greene, PhD; Assistant Professor of Management Kelly Hall, DBA; and School of Business Administration Dean Neal Mero, PhD, were quoted in The West Volusia Beacon article, “Stetson to launch human resource management program” on April 29.

• Associate Professor of Environmental Science and Studies Jason Evans, PhD, was quoted in the April 23 Informed Infrastructure article, “$404,000 Grant Funds Stetson University Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience and South Atlantic Region Project.” Evans is also the Interim Executive Director of The Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience.

• Psychology Professor Chris Ferguson was featured in an April 27 Spectrum News 13 segment regarding increased screen time during the pandemic. Also, Medium quoted him in the April 28 article, “Alone Together — How Social Media Has Changed In The Age of COVID-19.”

• Associate Professor of Cello Jamie Clark, DMA, and Adjunct Professor Kenny Lee, DMA, were quoted in Music keeps us Central Florida strong on WFTV Channel 9 in a story about their driveway concerts during the pandemic.

• Matthew Hurst, PhD, associate professor of Finance and interim director of the Roland and Sarah George Investments Institute, was quoted in “How to Best Use That Stimulus Check” on HSH.com.

• Stetson’s Patricia Wilson Field won College Softball Field of the Year in SportsField Management’s May 2020 issue. Field technician Steve Barnard was quoted in the story.

• Stetson alumnus and “Chernobyl Diaries’ actor Dimitri Diatchenko dead at 52” was reported by FOX News, UPI and more than 50 other outlets.

• Alumna Stephanie Webb was featured in an April 24 Greenboro Sports article for her resignation from Guilford College’s Women’s Soccer.
