The Hatters have 12 wins this season for the first time since 2014.

All three wins have come via the shutout as the Hatters improved to 12-6 overall and 4-2 in the ASUN.

North Alabama fell to 2-13, 0-6.

Stetson set the tone early, posting 14 kills and hitting .464 in the opening set.

“Sometimes a game like this can be hard to have a great start, but they were focused,” Stetson head coach Yang Deng said.  “They wanted to build the character of the team, about who we are, and they all had a great start.”

Stetson broke open a close second set with a late 10-4 run, then scored 20 of the first 28 points in Set 3.

Hao Jin and Eva Deisa led the way with nine kills apiece.  Brianna Schmid added eight kills and a .636 attack percentage.  Naina Ivanova dished out 33 assists.

“I think Bri did a really good job today, and that is a credit to the passers and the setters,” Deng said.

Defensively the Hatters picked up 58 digs, led by Deisa’s 16.  Jin contributed to four of the team’s seven blocks.

It is the first time since 1990 that Stetson has won three straight 3-0 matches.

The Hatters will seek their first four-game winning streak of the season Tuesday night at FGCU.
