Stetson names Director of Admissions

BobbyAndrewsRobert Andrews, associate director of admissions at Stetson University for four years, has been named director of admissions, effective Monday, Aug. 4. Andrews was selected after a national search to fill the vacancy left by Rodney San Jose who left Stetson for another position.

“Since joining Stetson in July of 2010, Robert has been central to successive record enrollments,” said Joel Bauman, vice president of enrollment at Stetson. “He has taken on increasingly advanced responsibilities in the admissions office.”

Andrews’ responsibilities at Stetson have included leading the admissions committee review process, supervision of the admissions staff training, recruitment travel, organized territory assignments, and focused key recruitment initiatives for both in- and out-of-state markets. “Andrews single-handedly developed significant pipelines and relationships with key influencers in the New England area, a very strategic region for Stetson’s undergraduate admissions,” said Bauman.

Andrews graduated from Sacred Heart University in business administration and later served as assistant director for events and operations as well as assistant baseball coach. Prior to Stetson, he also had several years of experience as a sales agent and account executive in the insurance and network/internet security industries.

“Robert demonstrates natural leadership abilities and I have been impressed with how he leads by example,” said Bauman. “He displays a high degree of honesty, loyalty and integrity, and is a great mentor to his staff. I expect that he will do great things to help Stetson University step even more boldly into the future of significance.”
