Join Alpha Kappa Psi, the professional business fraternity, and the DeLand community for an evening of fabulous food, drinks and live music! 

On Friday evening, April 4, 5-8 p.m., Stetson University will welcome the DeLand community to campus to enjoy the culinary delights from many of Mainstreet DeLand’s restaurants. When Stetson’s Delta Eta Associates class of the professional business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, invited local restaurateurs to promote their businesses on Stetson’s beautiful campus, they scheduled A Taste of Mainstreet–a testimony to the strong partnership between Stetson University and the City of DeLand.

A Taste of MainStreet is open to the public and will feature some of the best food in Central Florida. It will be held on the Stetson Green and will feature live music, too. Admission for the event: $5–students and kids; $7–community.

According to the Delta Eta Associates, the event is designed to promote local businesses and develop relationships with surrounding business leaders.

“It was a great opportunity to work with other local business leaders and community members,” said Ashton Munholland, vice president of the Delta Eta Associates class. “We are excited to continue to develop relationships between the community, the local businesses and our own Stetson community.”

DeLand, home of Stetson University, was voted as the Best Downtown in Central Florida (other than Orlando) in an online competition sponsored by the Orlando Sentinel in December 2013. In the Stetson Today story touting this victory, City Manager Michael Pleus ’94, MBA ’99, thanked the Hatters. “Stetson played a key role in securing the votes necessary to emerge the winner of the contest as Central Florida’s Best “Other” Downtown – Go Hatters!”

Boston Coffee, Santorini, Tom’s Pizza Shop, Casey’s on the Corner, Moe’s, Porkie’s BBQ, Pat and Toni’s Sweet Things, Sonny’s BBQ, Publix, Firehouse Subs, Jersey Mike’s, Sweet Spot, Mainstreet Grill, and more!
