Stetson fans are in “hoops heaven” according to one local sports writer. And why wouldn’t they be? Both men’s and women’s teams are at the top of their games.

Men’s Basketball

In the fifth episode of Inside the Arc, Stetson men’s basketball head coach Casey Alexander talked to Dan Forcella about the recent success of the Hatters, what the team can do to improve over the second half of Atlantic Sun Conference play, and the upcoming match-up against Florida Gulf Coast.

Friday night’s game at FGCU is scheduled to tipoff at 7:00 p.m. from Fort Myers.  The Hatters, currently in first place in the league at 6-2, and the Eagles (13-8, 5-3) will play live on CSS, ESPN3, ASun.TV and HatterVision.  Live audio on 1230 AM, 1490 AM, and MyAM1230.com, as well as live stats will also be available. Women’s Basketball

Victoria McGowan scored 16 points and Sasha Sims added 13 points as the Stetson women’s basketball team earned its school-record 11th consecutive victory Monday night, defeating Northern Kentucky 62-39 at the Edmunds Center.

The Hatters (15-4) also won their 14th straight home game and are off to their best start ever in Atlantic Sun Conference play at 8-0.

Jama Sharp recorded 11 points, six rebounds, five steals and four blocks, while Cherisse Burris tied a career-high with 12 rebounds. Read more
