GEORGIAN PATRIARCH GREETS PATRIARCH OF CONSTANTIHOPLE ON 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS ENTHRONEMENT
Catholicos-Patriarch of all-Georgia Ilia II sent to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew a letter [in English—tr. note] in which he congratulated him on the thirtieth anniversary of his enthronement, Orthodox Times reported on 1 November; it also published a scan of the letter.
As Patriarch Ilia writes in his letter, addressing Patriarch Bartholomew: "On behalf of the Church of Georgia and personally on my behalf, I cordially congratulate you on the jubilee of Your Holiness's enthronement."
The head of the Georgian patriarchate notes that for 30 years Bartholomew "has been carrying a burden of great responsibility and honor. Being the head of the Patriarchate of Constantinople has always been heavy and difficult."
Ilia also assured him that ""we will always remember the support you have extended to the Church of Georgia for many years, and we hope that our fraternal relationship will deepen in the future." (tr. by PDS, posted 2 November 2021)
