• Professor of History Paul Croce, PhD, published an opinion article in the West Volusia Beacon titled, “Halloween Year meets Halloween night” on Nov. 5. “In 2020,” Croce writes, “every day has been like Halloween. It’s been a year of scares and shocks.”

• Associate Professor and Jessie Ball duPont Endowed Chair of Social Justice Education Rajni Shankar-Brown, PhD, was quoted in the Nov. 11 article by WMC 5, a Memphis-based NBC affiliate, entitled “Best Life: Getting homeless families off the streets.” Shankar-Brown discussed the homelessness issue in the United States. “Families with children are the fastest-growing segment of the homeless population,” Shankar-Brown said.

• Law Professor Ciara Torres-Spelliscy was quoted by MarketWatch in a Nov. 11 article called, “Alleging fraud, GOP seeks to overturn election results in Michigan, Pennsylvania.”

• Angela Delmedico, an Advisory Board Member of Stetson’s Disruptive Leadership program and CEO of Elev8 Consulting Group, was accepted into the Forbes Business Council, as reported by multiple news outlets.

• Law Professor Ciara Torres-Spelliscy wrote an analysis for The Brennan Center for Justice called, “The Most Expensive Election Ever,” which was also picked up by the Election Law Blog

• Law Professor Ciara Torres-Spelliscy was interviewed on WMNF MidPoint on Nov. 9 for a conversation about the presidential election. 

• Law Professor Ciara Torres Spelliscy was interviewed for Fusion TV for a Nov. 10 segment about the lawsuits filed by the Trump campaign regarding the election. 

• Law Professor Jason Palmer was featured on the Legal Theory Blog on Nov. 11 for his forthcoming St. John’s Law Review article, “Separation of Powers Analysis of Forum Non Conveniens’ Adequate Available Forum.”

• Alumna Andria (Long) Herr ’83 was elected to Seminole County Commission District 5 on Nov. 3, as reported by the Orlando Sentinel article, “Seminole Republicans maintain control of commission, constitutional offices.”

• Law alumna Kayla Richmond of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. was honored during the Lee County Bar Association’s Pro Bono Awards held virtually on Oct. 16. 

• Alumna Blair Parke published the article, “11 Things to Know about the History of Thanksgiving,” at Crosswalk.com on Nov. 3.

• Georgia Gov. Brian P. Kemp announced 18 appointees to serve on various state councils, including Law alumna Rachel Davidson to the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. She currently serves as Director of the Governor’s Office of the Child Advocate and has worked within the agency since 2017.
