1950s

Robert H. Pinder

Robert H. Pinder ’50, Round Rock, Texas, was a pastor in Florida for 17 years, a Baptist missionary to Argentina for eight years and professor of family therapy at Texas Tech University for 23 years. This past year, a new student center at Texas Tech was dedicated in his honor. In 2019, he published his autobiography, called “A Life Worth Living.”

Carolyn Miller Parr ’59, Annapolis, Maryland, had her book “Love’s Way:  Living Peacefully with Your Family As Your Parents Age” published by Hendrickson Publishers. The book is currently available on Amazon, as well as her first book, “In the Secret Service: The True Story of the Man Who Saved President Reagan’s Life.”

1970s

Carolyn Graham, MEd ’70, Charlotte, North Carolina, published “The Gift of the Circle.” The book is a memoir that details her lengthy and difficult recovery from Lyme disease. 

Frank L. Stubbs ’71, Edina, Minnesota, is a retired nonprofit-arts executive and management consultant. During the COVID-19 quarantine, he served as a reviewer of music proposals for the National Endowment for the Arts CARES Act funds, which were awarded nationally on July 1. He continues to serve on the Board of Cantus, a professional male vocal ensemble based in the Twin Cities. 

Scott C. Linn

Scott C. Linn ’72, Norman, Oklahoma, is a professor of finance and holder of the John and Donnie Brock Chair in Energy Economics and Policy at the University of Oklahoma. He also is the research director of the Price Energy Institute, with his research and teaching focused on energy markets and risk management in the energy industry. In September 2019, he was the co-organizer of the third iteration of the University of Oklahoma Energy and Commodities Finance Research Conference, where the keynote speaker was 2003 Nobel Prize in Economics winner Robert Engle. In addition, Linn has published extensively.

Judy DeRango Wicks

Judy DeRango Wicks ’78, Dunwoody, Georgia, was presented with the Public Relations Society of America College of Fellows Sage Award for mentoring in October 2019. She is the second person to receive the award, which honors a member of the College of Fellows who has demonstrated a significant impact on the profession through mentoring and personal support for public relations professionals and/or members of the Public Relations Student Society of America.

1980s

Anthony P. Clark ’83, Beaumont, Texas, received a Doctor of Ministry degree in May from Trinity School for Ministry in Amberidge, Pennsylvania. His thesis project explored the integration of faith and work and examined the role of virtue ethics in the workplace.

DuAnn Kremer

DuAnn Kremer ’87, Lynch Station, Virginia, an associate professor and department chair in exercise physiology at the University of Lynchburg, received the university’s Thomas C. Allen – Heidi Koring Award for Excellence in Academic Advising for the 2019-2020 academic year.

1990s

Philip P. Thurman

Philip P. Thurman ’90, Lake Mary, Florida, has written a book, “Oneness of Heart.” Published and released in September 2019, the nonfiction work details sound, experienced guidance to both entrepreneurs and those established businesses not performing to full capacity — including insights and advice compiled during three decades of management and small business experience. The book is available on Amazon, Books A Million, and Barnes and Noble.

Jennifer Bellomy Bonenfant

Jennifer Bellomy Bonenfant ’93, Bloomington, Illinois, was hired by Tangicloud Technologies Inc. as the new vice president of product innovation. She came to her new role with more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and consulting. 

Rebecca Bridges Watts ’94, Vestavia Hills, Alabama, graduated with a Master of Divinity from the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas, and was ordained to the priesthood in the Episcopal Church in 2019. This year, she became the new associate rector for formation at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Previously, she was an associate professor of communication and media studies at Stetson from 2005 to 2016.

Rebecca Bridges Watts

Gregory W. Meier, JD ’95, Winter Park, Florida, was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America©(2021), as published in dozens of publications nationwide, including U.S. News & World Report. Meier practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, corporate law, partnerships and taxation at ShuffieldLowman.

Frederick B. Entenmann ’98, Columbus, Ohio, was hired by VIDA Health of San Francisco as a certified health and wellness coach for the polychronic. In that role, he delivers clinical, holistic and integrative interventions, and has teamed with the Cleveland Clinic to create clinical guidance. Entenmannspecializes in medical nutrition therapy.

2000s

Ryan G. Benson ’03, Fort Myers, Florida, was awarded the 2020 Young Professional Award by the Florida Home Builders Association. He was chosen for demonstrating exceptional quality and reputation, as well as being instrumental in advancing homebuilding matters at all levels of government.

Davis Mallory ’06, Nashville, Tennessee, released a new video for his song “Jane Fonda.” The song was written by Mallory and producer Johannes Willinder in Stockholm, Sweden. Mallory said he draws influence from Fonda’s pioneering activist stance and paid honor to her expansive career in the video. 

Christian Barker

Christian Barker ’09, JD ’12, Thompsons Station, Tennessee, has joined the law firm Shackelford, Bowen, McKinley & Norton LLP as its entertainment transactional partner. He represents artists, songwriters, producers, independent record labels, independent music publishing companies and boutique artist management companies nationwide. His experience encompasses family law involving disputed intellectual property assets. He is immediate past-president of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division.

Judson Lathe ’10, Jupiter, Florida, is cofounder and chief administrative officer at Bridge Connector, located in Palm Beach Gardens and Nashville. The company recently announced Series B funding at $25.5 million to further growth, as it provides vendor-agnostic integration solutions and a full-service delivery model so digital health companies, providers and payers can more easily integrate traditionally disparate platforms, such as electronic health records and patient engagement solutions.

Stephanie Canfield ’11, Tallahassee, Florida, is CEO/owner of Ignite Digital Marketing Solutions. The company has been in business since 2017 and serves clients nationwide.

Jamie Dunn ’20, Panama City, Florida, is attending Florida State University to pursue a Master of Arts in Arts Administration – Music.  She is working as a graduate assistant with the Graduate Office of the College of Music.
