Head coach for the Stetson Hatters baseball team since 2016, Trimper led the Hatters to a second-place finish in his inaugural run through the ASUN Conference and was ranked in every national poll during his second season.

Prior to coming to Stetson, Trimper completed 11 seasons as head coach at the University of Maine where he took his team to the conference tournament nine times, winning the event to advance into NCAA Regional play in 2006 and 2011.
