Also, Ma was quoted in the U.S. News & World Report article “Penny Stocks: 5 Ways to Spot a Pump-and-Dump Scam, posted March 8.

Eric Kurlander, Ph.D.

Eric Kurlander, Ph.D., professor of history, was quoted in the Newsweek Online article “NASA Named Its Next New Horizons Target Ultima Thule, a Mythical Land with a Nazi Connection,” posted March 14.

Law Professor Charles Rose was quoted in the WMFE NPR article “Orlando Shooting: Jury Selection Begins for Orlando Shooter’s Widow.” The article ran in 62 national media outlets. Rose was also quoted in the March 2 Newburgh Gazette article “Widow of Pulse Nightclub Gunman Set to Stand Trial.” The article ran in 131 news outlets nationwide. In addition, Rose appeared on the March 13 WMFE Orlando radio program “Intersection: Salman Trial Preview; Astronaut Nicole Stott; The Orlando City Soccer Story.” Rose was quoted in the March 9 WMFE news report “Intersection: Noor Salman Trial Update.” And Rose spoke with the Tampa Bay Times for the March 8 article “He Liked something on Facebook. Then he went to jail.”

Christopher Ferguson, Ph.D., professor of psychology, wrote the article “Trump’s Video-Game Smear is Cynical, Evidence-Free BS,” posted by New York Daily News Online March 3. Ferguson was quoted in the article, “Trump is Wrong About Video Games and Violence,” posted by Yahoo Tech and other outlets March 4. Ferguson also was featured in the Africa News article “Video Game Industry Confirms Thursday Meeting About Violence With Trump,” posted March 5. Ferguson was quoted saying: “Survey of scholars in the field suggest that only 10 to 15 percent of scholars agree that violent games contribute to societal violence, so scholars who’d support Trump appear to be in the minority” in the March 11 GK Men article “White House Releases Graphic Video Showcasing Video Game Violence.”

On March 2, Law Professor Peter Lake was quoted in the Chronicle of Higher Education article “Can Colleges Act More Quickly to Punish Professors Who Harass?”

According to the article “Stetson University Welcomed into CFA Institute University Affiliation Program,” Stetson’s School of Business Administration’s finance program “has been acknowledged as incorporating at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice within the program,” posted by KAIT-TV Online March 4.

On March 5, Law Professor Rebecca Morgan wrote the article “Surgery Late in Life” for the Elder Law Prof Blog. On March 6, Morgan wrote the article “Florida Moves Forward on Backup Generator Requirements for Nursing Homes” for the Elder Law Prof Blog.  She wrote the March 8 Elder Law Prof Blog “Young Blood for Anti-Aging?”

On March 6, Law Professor Louis Virelli spoke with WMFE NPR for the article “Intersection: Responding to Threats Against School Campuses.” Also, Virelli appeared on the March 13 WMFE Orlando radio program “Intersection: Online Threats; PTSD & First Responders; Jeff Zentner.”

Alan Green, Ph.D.

Alan Green, Ph.D., professor of economics, wrote the Tampa Bay Times Online article “Why Protectionist Policies Don’t Work,” posted March 11. Also, he was quoted in this recent WalletHub article.

Law Professor Peter Lake was quoted in the March 9 WFSU article “Representative Warns Campus Free Speech Bill Would Be ‘Litigation Nightmare’.”

Law adjunct professor Jennifer Dietz spoke with the March 10 ABC Action News for a news story on animal law and a woman attempting to get her dog returned.

The March 7 Gulfport Gabber profiled Stetson Law’s Gulfport campus in the article “Gulfport’s Northwest Shines on Flamingo Home Tour.”

Stetson University was mentioned in the March 14 West Volusia Beacon Online article, “DeLand is Florida’s First ‘Monarch City USA.'”

News of Stetson competing in the Milgard Invitational Case Competition on Social Responsibility appeared on the March 15 Elon University website.

On March 5, Trenam Law announced Stetson Law alumna Catherine DiPaolo received an ABA Diversity Fellowship.

The March 8 Bonita Springs Florida Weekly announced that Law graduate Aysegul Timur has been named board member of Uncommon Friends.

Alumna Jessica Rafalowski was featured in the March 11 Crave article “Former Miss Florida Jessica Rafalowski Will Floor Ya.”

The March 13 Naples Herald reported that Law alumna Ashley Moody is a candidate for Florida Attorney General in the article “Republican Attorney General candidates square off in Fort Myers.”

The March 14 Norwich Bulletin reported that Law alumnus Dean Trantalis has been elected as the new mayor of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is the city’s first openly gay mayor.

According to the Henderson Franklin website, Law alumna Suzanne Boy will present two sessions at the Global Pet Expo at the Orlando Convention Center on March 21.
