Macon, Ga. — Stetson University extended its winning streak to seven in a row with a 4-1 win over Mercer and a 5-0 victory over Coastal Carolina on Saturday afternoon, March 31, at Bear Beach.

The Hatters are now 31-1 in their past 32 ASUN regular season contests.

The 17th-ranked Hatters won 20 out of 21 sets on the day to improve to 18-6 overall and 4-0 in ASUN play.  Stetson has also won 15 of its last 16 matches overall.

Carly Perales and Sunniva Helland-Hansen picked up their 19th and 20th dual match wins of the season.  They won 21-10, 21-18 at the 2 seed against Mercer and 21-12, 21-11 at the 1 seed against Coastal.

Darby Dunn and Sammee Thomas also continued their winning ways with a 21-19, 21-11 win over Mercer at the 1 seed and a 21-10, 21-17 win against Coastal at the 2 seed.

At the 3 seed, Rachel Noble and Samantha Harris registered a 21-19, 21-18 win over Mercer and a 21-14, 21-5 win victory vs. Coastal.  Noble now has 60 career dual match victories, moving her into third place all-time in school history.

At the 4 seed, Lauren Durham and Julie Varga fell 2-1 to Mercer’s 4 seed, but not before rallying from a 1-0 deficit to force a third set and then playing extra points.  The Bears eventually came away with a 17-15 win in the final set.  The pair bounced back with a 21-14, 21-7 win against Coastal.

At the 5 seed, Katinka Krahn and Alexa Richardson won 21-18, 21-16 against Mercer, while Rebecca Ingram and Quinci Birker won 21-11, 21-5 vs. Coastal.

The Hatters are now 31-1 in their past 32 ASUN regular season contests.  Stetson has also won 32 consecutive matches against unranked opponents.

Stetson will host fellow ASUN unbeaten FGCU (4-0) for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
