The preseason honors continue to roll in for Stetson junior Logan Gilbert. On Tuesday, Gilbert was named to the Perfect Game preseason All-America first team.

The hard-throwing right-handed pitcher was previously named to the Collegiate Baseball preseason All-America second team in December. This is the fifth season Perfect Game has published a preseason collegiate All-America team.

A native of Apopka, Fla., Gilbert was named the ASUN Pitcher of the year in 2017 after posting a perfect 10-0 record with a 2.02 ERA, and is one of three Stetson hurlers to return this year after posting more than 100 strikeouts last spring. Senior Brooks Wilson (127) and junior Jack Perkins (108) joined with Gilbert (107) in making Stetson just the eighth NCAA team to have three pitchers record 100 or more strikeouts in a season since 2002.

The other programs to have three pitchers with 100 or more strikeouts in a season were Oklahoma (2012), UCLA (2010), TCU (2006), Ole Miss (2005) and Rice (2002, ’03 and ’05).

Gilbert was the only player from the ASUN named to any of the three preseason Perfect Game All-America teams.
