TEDxStetsonU

TEDxStetsonU is a university-wide opportunity for our community to gather locally through a day of brilliant speakers, thought-provoking videos, and mind-blowing conversations.

TEDxStetsonU 2024

TEDxStetsonU will be hosted on February 15, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. in the Stetson Room and registration to participate as a guest has gone live for this event. Guest registration is open to students, faculty, and staff from the Stetson community and registration closes on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.

This year's speakers for TEDxStetsonU 2024 are:

  • Asher Sochazewski - During Asher Sochaczewski's speech, he discusses the adversity he has faced with having a speech impediment and his ongoing struggle with rhotacism. He hopes his speech will inspire others with speech differences such as lisps, stutters, rhotacism, etc. to make their voices heard on topics they are passionate about.
  • D'Angelo Brown - After graduating here from Stetson University, D’Angelo Brown, decided to serve through the Peace Corps as a youth development volunteer in Thailand. It is because of this journey that  D’Angelo is able to come back and give you the secret to finding purpose, which funny enough, doesn’t require you to move across the world.
  • Dylaney Sabino - What does community engagement have to do with personal wellness? Dylaney Sabino explores the transformative impact of community engagement, sharing personal experiences and insights as Bonner Coordinator at Stetson University. Maintaining an awareness of ethical volunteerism, Dylaney describes the positive impact collaborative action can have on anyone and everyone as well as a simple way to initiate your community-engaged journey.
  • Naya Adla - Naya Adla is a second-year student from Aleppo, Syria. She recounts her journey from survival after leaving her country for Egypt to empowerment through the transformative impact of education (and the power of love).
  • Shane Norton - What happens if we all become imposters? Delve into the implications of widespread impostor-ship and the consequences of relying on AI-generated content. Join a thought-provoking conversation with Shane Norton that prompts reflection on authenticity, self-confidence, and the evolving relationship between humanity and artificial intelligence.
