8 to 8:30 a.m. - Service Project Orientation and Breakfast
Carlton Union Building, Stetson Room
The Center for Community Engagement has planned multiple service projects for the Stetson Community to participate in throughout the DeLand and Volusia County area. If you RSVP to participate in the service projects we are providing free grab and go breakfast in the Stetson Room, where you will go through a brief orientation and carpool over to the different sites.
8:30 to 10:30 a.m. - Service Projects - Cultural Credit
There will be numerous community service projects planned, there will be an RSVP link to participate in these events that will be available on August 1st.
10:30 a.m. to Noon - Opening Remarks and Keynote Address - Cultural Credit
Elizabeth Hall, Lee Chapel
The Stetson University Concert Choir will be performing to kick off the opening session. Following the performance will be a welcome from President Wendy Libby, along with the keynote address which will be delivered by the Richard Blanco.
Noon to 2 p.m. - Community Lunch and Global Citizenship Fair
Commons, Stetson Green
Chartwells Catering will be providing complimentary lunch in celebration of Values Day in the Commons. Students, faculty, staff, and invited community partners are welcome to enjoy music, lunch, and community.
The Global Citizenship Fair will be taking place on the Stetson's Green, which is a great opportunity to network and connect with many of Stetson University's local and global community partners. The Global Citizenship Fair will feature opportunities for internships, volunteer service and study abroad.
2 to 3 p.m. - Workshop Block 1 - Cultural Credit
3:15 to 4:15 p.m. - Workshop Block 2 - Cultural Credit
4:30 to 6 p.m. - Hunger Banquet - Cultural Credit
Hollis Center, Rinker Field House
Come experience this unique tradition! The Center for Community Engagement, along with the Student Coalition to End Homelessness, Habitat for Humanity, and Oxfam, have partnered together to host the 6th Annual Stetson Hunger Banquet. The objective of this event is to raise awareness of local and world hunger. The Banquet will include an overview of what our world faces, a meal for attendees and options on how they can be involved in efforts related to hunger prevention.
