School of Music
Faculty
After 35 years of distinguished artistry and service, Dr. Michael Rickman, Professor of Piano, has decided to retire from the Stetson faculty. The School of Music community was unanimous in selecting Mr. Sean Kennard for the position, and Sean has agreed to join the School as Assistant Professor of Music. Mr. Kennard, a native of Hawaii, is a graduate of the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, The Juilliard School, and is a doctoral candidate at Yale University. He has been a prizewinner at some of the most important international piano competitions and has a flourishing international career with recent performances in Europe, South America, and Japan. Sean has a particularly active career in Japan.
College of Law
Advocacy Center
It is always a moment filled with great pride when we welcome a former Stetson University College of Law student to the law faculty. Beginning this summer, Julia Metts will join the College of Law as Professor of Practice and Director of Trial Teams. As a law student, Professor Metts won many championships as a member of Stetson Law's Trial Team, and, after graduation, Professor Metts served as an Assistant State Attorney in Ocala, coached a number of our trial teams, and also served as an adjunct member of the faculty.
