Media Coverage

Stetson University's media coverage reinforces Stetson's brand identity and national name recognition, promotes the excellence of its students and faculty, and assists the Office of Admission in attracting the best students for Stetson.

For the period of January – March 2017, Stetson University had 5,596 news items, lower than the previous year, but with greater reach (circulation). Significant placements during this time period included an article in Art & Antiques about Oscar Bluemner, which featured several images from the Vera Bluemner Kouba Collection. Professor K.C. Ma was quoted numerous times in U.S. News & World Report and Yahoo Finance weekly stories about stocks. Glamour magazine featured an article about alumna Jil Gossard-Cook, and The Atlantic quoted professor Melinda Hall in an article about dying. 

Stetson increased brand reach through entry into seven additional Dominant Market Areas (DMAs) for the first time.

College of Law Office of Communications

The Stetson University College of Law Communications Office is a smaller, versatile version of the Marketing and Communications Office in DeLand with a more direct, hands-on approach appropriate for its size and focus.

Media Relations

From February 1 – March 31, 2017, Stetson Law faculty and students appeared in 273 high-profile news placements including 251 national and 22 regional media outlets. Placements included: Bloomberg BNA, BuzzFeed, the Chronicle of Higher Education, Law360, Science Magazine, SCOTUSblog, Washington Post and U.S. News & World Report. 

The spring 2017 preLaw quotes advocacy center director Professor Charles Rose and features Stetson College of Law in the article, "Top school for trial advocacy, alternative dispute resolution, and international law." The winter 2017 issue of the National Jurist magazine again lists Stetson University College of Law's moot court among the best 20 programs in the nation during this decade. Stetson is also mentioned in the article, "Best schools for bar exam preparation."

U.S. News & World Report lists Stetson among the top 100 law schools, no. 1 in trial advocacy, and no. 4 in legal writing and research.

Creative Services

Creative Services includes our creative team, project manager, web development and web content staff. It's a small group of people that handle a large volume of work.

As of the report date, Creative Services had 32 active marketing projects and had completed 61 projects from the end of January to present. A majority of projects are in support of enrollment efforts for undergraduate, graduate and adult degree completion. Other work included Athletics advertising for home games, Homecoming 2017 "save the date" marketing and on-campus event marketing including:
