D2, Implement Best Practice Alumni Engagement Capability:

Alumni and Parent Engagement

  • Events

All events are defined by primary themes/categories that engage alumni, parents, students and friends of Stetson. The total number of alumni events and parent engagement events has climbed from less than 100 in 2014 to nearly 200 in 2017, and homecoming registrations have doubled in that time.

These events are primarily facilitated by the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement, in collaboration with other groups or departments including the alumni board, athletics, deans, development, and office of campus life and student success.

  • Mad Hatter VIP Club (Pre-Game Initiatives for all HOME and AWAY Football Games)

Our partnership with Sportsanity, an in-town college apparel and merchandise company, has worked extremely well; it is something we look forward to expanding. Attendance at these events averaged 124 for home games and 83 at the away game pre-game tailgates.

  • Social Media

The Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement continues to collaborate with the University Marketing social media sites, contributing to the positive growth in overall university engagement demonstrated by the increased number of followers and likes.

College of Law Update

Alumni Relations

Sixteen alumni events were hosted and/or coordinated by the Development & Alumni Relations Office from mid-October 2016 thru January 2017. For the upcoming months of February through April, we anticipate hosting events from Ft. Lauderdale to Atlanta.

We continue to receive positive feedback from alumni stating that they enjoy and appreciate the increased frequency of our alumni events programming. Our challenge moving forward is to keep the events fresh and interesting for our alumni to encourage their continued participation. Participation from young alumni in particular continues to grow, which is, in part, a reflection of our office procuring more up-to-date contact information for this population. In total, our office hosted/coordinated 53 events in calendar year 2016, with 40 of those being local alumni chapter events.
