D5, Enhance Faculty and Staff Development:

Teacher-Scholar Development

The Brown Center for Faculty Innovation and Excellence, led by Executive Director Julia Metzker, offered a diverse set of resources to support the Stetson Teacher-Scholar.

  • Welcomed Madison Creech to the Stetson community in Fall 2016 as the Brown Visiting Teacher-Scholar Fellow in Creative Arts;

  • Developed a set of guiding principles to provide a conceptual framework for programming and resource allocation decisions;

  • Offered two new opportunities, Teaching Squares and Small Group Instructional Diagnosis (SGID), for faculty to receive peer feedback about their teaching;

  • Launched two new workshop series (Passion to Action and SoTL 101) to harness innovative ideas for impacting organizational learning and development by faculty and staff;

  • Facilitated the submission of an inclusive excellence grant proposal, “Many Voices, One Stetson” to the Association of American Colleges & Universities;

  • Facilitated a number of curricular/co-curricular revision workshops across campus.
