Fun Fact: Her senior research project on Northern Ireland took first place at the European Union Conference in California and she won a fully funded trip to present her research to the EU.
Her Stetson Moment: “…all of the support that I got, not just from the faculty, but from my friends and my support systems here. Because there's no way I would be able to pursue this PhD program, if I weren't for all of the people that helped me out along the way.”

Her Stetson Moment: “I chose this place because I knew I would grow. You know? …It wasn't a place where there was sort of outlined expectations of me, or a checkbox to fill. I needed to be in a place where I had to figure out my own path.”

Known for: Recruited to play soccer from St. Louis Missouri in 2014. Played Division I Women’s Soccer all four years, member of Psi Chi Honor Society, member National Collegiate Honor Society.
Fun Fact: 2017 ASUN Conference Academic Honors for maintaining a GPA above 3.5
Her Stetson Moment:
"I kind of reached a point where I was questioning law school just because I realized it was going to be really difficult. I was not sure if I could do it. After taking the right classes and talking to my advisors and multiple professors, they helped me realize that it was definitely something I wanted to do. I'm really glad that I went for it."
After Graduation: U.S. Attorney General’s Honors Program, Environment and Natural Resources Division, U.S. Department of Justice.
Known for: Served on Stetson’s national environmental law moot court competition team, vice president of Environmental Law Society, fellow with the Institute for Biodiversity Law and Policy
Her Stetson Moment: “I am looking forward to moving ahead and starting to practice, since that’s obviously what I came here to do. However, I’m also really going to miss law school. I’ll miss the campus, the students and the professors at Stetson. Everyone here is so nice.”
After Graduation: Focus on corporate litigation and transactional work
Known for: Came to the U.S. from Nigeria, receiving both a J.D. and M.B.A., member of the Dispute Resolution Board, has 10 siblings
Her Stetson Moment: “I chose Stetson because of its reputation for advocacy and legal writing, skills that translate into a good lawyer.”
After Graduation: Heading into litigation
Known for: Part-time student, Sailing Coach at Eckerd College, former Navy officer
His Stetson Moment: “I appreciate the flexibility [at Stetson]. Not all schools have a part-time program and even if they have a part-time program, I wouldn’t expect that a professor would appreciate the conflicting time demands of a part-time student. I never felt singled out or like it was hurting me to be a part-time student.”
After Graduation: Clerkship with federal judge in Tampa
Known for: Originally from Romania, Viviania has had five scholarly articles accepted for publication in legal journals and in an international conference book. Vasiu’s articles include a placement in a peer-reviewed journal nationally ranked second in criminal law and procedure, as well as a highly-ranked law review placement.
Her Stetson Moment: “Stetson taught me what’s possible, and how to push for what you want when it gets hard. You have to show that you believe in yourself and show others why they should believe in you.”
