At Stetson, Viet "Finn" Tran completing all the requirements for an American Chemical Society certified bachelor's degree in chemistry. He was also a Stetson Peer Instructor and a student research assistant at the Institute of Water and Environmental Resilience during his time at Stetson University. As his main research goal with IWER, Finn studied the amount of nutrients in groundwater, lake, and river environments and whether nutrient levels might be sufficiently high to result in eutrophication and other negative environmental impacts.
Finn has been accepted to attend chemistry/biochemistry PhD programs at UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke University, Notre Dame University, the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania State University and the University of Maryland. Finn plans to make his graduate school decision before May 2021 graduation and enroll this upcoming fall.
