Environmental Studies

Stephanie Hanson is an Environmental Studies major and a member of Stetson's Honors Program. She maintained a 4.0 GPA and passed her Honors Oral Examination with distinction. She was a recipient of the prestigious national Udall Scholarship, which recognizes leadership, public service and commitment to environmental issues. She served as president of the Environmental Club, helping to bring more creative events to campus, in addition to community work.

Stephanie has been much of the energy and organizational force behind the Environmental Club, where she has served as President and Vice-President, and all of its impactful activities within the community. Further, Stephanie created an environmental art class, started the Throughline Gallery at Stetson's Gillespie Museum, interned with Stetson's Volusia Sandhill restoration and been actively involved with Hatter Harvest, the student garden, as well as the Stetson Organization for Native American Revitalization.

Stephanie will pursue a career in creative environmental education and hopes to use her artistic talents in ways that promote positive change.
