Nicholas Pekmezian enrolled for 20 credits or more in almost every semester, allowing him to finish his degree in health sciences — in addition to the pre-medicine curriculum — a year early. Also, Nicholas was on the Dean’s List each semester, graduated Summa Cum Laude and was selected as the top student in general chemistry, receiving the CRC Press Chemistry Achievement Award. Meanwhile, he was vice president of the men’s club soccer team and made intramural sports a big part of his campus life.
Nicholas participated in a summer research internship at Simmaron Research Inc. after his junior year, which introduced him to the research side of medicine. Following graduation, he plans to fulfill his childhood dream by attending medical school and pursuing a residency in orthopedic surgery.
