Nelson Quezada Herrera
Nelson Quezada Herrera is an immigrant from El Salvador who is graduating as a double major in English and political science. He was the recipient of the Stetson Undergraduate Research Experience grant in 2019 and 2020 and engaged in both quantitative research —examining political attitudes toward the Green New Deal — and qualitative research, examining the novel The Underground Railroad. As a member of the Bonner program, he has volunteered with the Community Education Project, Stetson’s higher education in-prison program. Through the American Political Science Association, he was awarded a competitive Diversity Fellowship for graduate school.
Nelson will attend Emory University in fall 2021 to pursue a doctorate in political science.
