While at Stetson, Lindsay Turmelle balanced excellent academic performance in a rigorous Health Sciences major, with the extensive responsibilities and commitment required to earn the Certificate of Community Engagement. For almost four years, Lindsay has been actively involved with Hispanic Health Initiatives Inc., providing health education, advocating for affordable health care, and preparing grant proposals to obtain funding for projects that support health outcomes. As a Health Issue Area Leader in the Bonner Program, Lindsay chairs the Wellness Committee to promote health and wellness among the program’s members. She further serves the community as an Executive Board member of People Helping People, and on-campus she is a Resident Assistant, cultivating a strong community atmosphere and providing support to the student community. Lindsay has also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Good Samaritan Society and as a Health coach in the Advent Health Community Care initiative.
