Kristyn Mackenzie Shaw
Mackenzie is a social science major with psychology as her primary discipline and sociology as her secondary discipline. She is a member of Phi Eta Sigma. Mackenzie’s senior project investigates whether imagined and parasocial contact with stigmatized characters, facilitated through reading or watching Harry Potter, has an impact on classist and racial prejudice.
Mackenzie also works as a Research Assistant in Dr. Michael Eskenazi’s Reading, Eye-Tracking and Individual Differences Lab. She has maintained academic excellence while also serving as a FOCUS Orientation leader in 2019 and 2020, as Treasurer of the Ocean Conservation and Ecology of Animals Club, taking private clarinet lessons and participating in various musical ensembles throughout her time at Stetson.
Mackenzie will enter Towson University's Experimental Psychology Master's program in Fall 2022.
