Environmental Science and Studies
Katinka Krahn excelled as both an environmental science major and a student-athlete on the beach volleyball team. She was a member of the Dean's List and the Magna Cum Laude Honor Society while representing the university as a member of the NCAA's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Also, she has been inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma honor society for athletes who exhibit excellence in their sport and in the classroom.
As a student, Krahn was involved with Solid Earth Africa, a company that works to combat deforestation in Ethiopia by promoting sustainable and affordable housing made with adobe blocks. She will be seeking a master’s degree in environmental toxicology, with the hope of one day working in sustainable development, climate change, environmental toxicology and global health.
Ultimately, her goal is to have a "job that allows me to make a direct impact on the environment around me."
