Jenna Hassebrock

Environmental Science and Studies (Environmental Science)

Jenna exemplifies a true liberal arts success story. A first-generation college attendee, she was always the top performer in her classes. Jenna was also a member of the Bonner Program through which she interned with the Marine Discovery Center in New Smyrna Beach for four years. In that role, she promoted marine conservation science to hundreds of visitors to the research and education center. She also worked with Stetson’s Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience as a Research Assistant to assess the environmental benefits of green stormwater infrastructure and to monitor nutrient loading into Lake Beresford. Moreover, she served for three years as a tutor for the Writing Center with an assignment to work with students in the Science Division. Through that role, she helped dozens of Stetson students improve their science writing skills. Jenna is a top-notch scientist in her own right and an excellent communicator for conveying science to the general public. Jenna will continue her education by pursuing a Master’s degree in Environmental Science at Villanova University with an emphasis in green chemistry.
