Emily McConnell maintained excellent academic performance during her years of study while also serving numerous leadership roles on campus. She was on the executive board of Zeta Tau Alpha (international women's fraternity), was a member of the Hand in Hand Art Club and was the external vice president for Stetson’s First Year Leadership Experience.
Emily's senior project explored the effects of fibroblast growth factors (FGF) on ciona intestinalis myocardium's "SOD" levels. She was awarded the Melbourne Alumnae Panhellenic Scholarship, given to a sorority member who exemplifies a strong work ethic and involvement in the community.
After graduation, Emily will be attending Vanderbilt University for a graduate nursing program in pediatrics.
