Casey McLallen

Communication and Media Studies

Casey McLallen is a major in communication and media studies, with minors in both management and human resource management. In her sophomore year, Casey discovered her love for human resources and decided to add these two minors, both of which are great examples of how passion for learning and application of communication theories and principles drive academic excellence.

Her senior research, "Inclusivity Versus the Patriarchy: Feminist Strategies in Michelle Obama’s Call for Gender Equality" is a rhetorical criticism of Obama's 2016 International Women's Day Speech. In addition to her academic achievements, Casey was also a Benefits Intern and a Communications intern for the Office of Human Resources at Stetson and served as Lead Student Manager and Compliance Manager for the Office of Student Employment.

The department faculty note that Casey has always been a student who is genuinely interested in improving her work beyond a desire to get specific grades. She is looking to start a career in Human Resources.
