Carmen is known for the warmth in her writing, her strong inter-media skills, the patience and attentiveness with which she approaches her work, and her absolutely first-rate research and investigative skills. She is the Executive Editor of the Reporter, a building manager at the Hollis Center, and a staff writer at the West Volusia Beacon. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Tau Delta, and Omicron Delta Kappa.

After graduation, she will become a professional foodie as a full-time food journalist at the West Volusia Beacon.
