Ryan Sorenson, a native Central Floridian, comes from a long line of musicians and began playing the tuba at age 12. After studying with Tom Waid at Stetson University and Jay Hunsberger at the University of South Florida, he went on to receive his master's degree in tuba performance from Northwestern University.

Biography

Ryan Sorenson, a native Central Floridian, comes from a long line of musicians and began playing the tuba at age 12. After studying with Tom Waid at Stetson University and Jay Hunsberger at the University of South Florida, he went on to receive his master's degree in tuba performance from Northwestern University. Since returning to Florida in 2011, Mr. Sorenson has performed with numerous ensembles, including chamber groups, wind ensembles, and orchestras. He has also maintained a healthy private studio and currently teaches low brass at several colleges in the Central Florida area as well. Mr. Sorenson lives in Deltona, FL with his wife and their cat, Meatball.
