Patrick McNamee, CPA, is an assistant professor of practice in accounting at Stetson University. Previously, he was Deputy Chief Auditor at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and had been a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Mr. McNamee's experiences at PwC included serving in the firm's auditing services group in its national office, leading the firm's public-sector assurance practice, and serving as an engagement partner on the audits of government agencies and government-sponsored enterprises.
Mr. McNamee is a member of the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB), which sets accounting standards for the federal government. While a PwC partner, Mr. McNamee served the profession as chairman of AICPA task forces on liaising with FASAB and on social insurance. Mr. McNamee also served as a member of the Comptroller General's Advisory Council on Government Auditing Standards.
Mr. McNamee also worked in audit standards-setting for the AICPA and Government Accountability Office (GAO). At GAO, Mr. McNamee led the team that updated Government Auditing Standards in 1994.
