Dr. Ruybal received her doctorate degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her research focuses on the impacts of climate change on human health. In particular, she's interested in understanding how past and future evolution can alter the impact of climate change on mosquito-borne disease.

Biography

Dr. Ruybal received her doctorate degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her research focuses on the impacts of climate change on human health. In particular, she's interested in understanding how past and future evolution can alter the impact of climate change on mosquito-borne disease.

Additionally, Dr. Ruybal has taught a variety of ecological and biological courses. In all of her courses she has two overarching Student Learning Objectives: mastery of scientific content and scientific practices (e.g. drawing and interpreting graphs, model building, hypothesis testing, scientific communication etc.).
