Research Participants Needed for Aphantasia Study

Research participants are needed for a research project on auditory aphantasia.  People with auditory aphantasia do not hear any inner voice in their mind. For example, if you are reading this silently and do not hear anything in your head, then you likely have at least some form of auditory aphantasia. If this applies to you, you are invited to participate in a research study that is being conducted by Dr. Michael Eskenazi of the Psychology Department.  If you are interested in participating in this study, please contact Dr. Eskenazi at [email protected] to schedule an appointment.

The research study takes less than 30 minutes to complete and will ask you to read words and sentences from a computer screen while reaction time data are recorded.  The purpose of the study is to understand how auditory aphantasia influences language processing. Participants must be at least 18 years old, have no reading disorders, speak English fluently, and have at least a mild version of auditory aphantasia. If this applies to you (or someone you know), and you are interested in participating, please email Dr. Eskenazi at [email protected].
