Be the Next Residential Education Graduate Assistant

Have you considered a Graduate Assistantship at Stetson?
Want to take your learned skills and put them into action in a college setting?

This Graduate Assistant for Residential Education (GARE) works in Residential Living and Learning (RL&L) assisting with the support of residential education initiatives and processes.  We have taken this previous academic year to redefine the impact the graduate assistant position has within our department.

The successful candidate will have a great opportunity to help our department shape its future. This position primarily focuses on student staff recruitment and justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) initiatives for the residential community. The GARE will also assist in student staff training, residential education assessment and evaluation, serve as a liaison to campus partners and lead special projects that support the function of residential education. This individual will also support the development of a new student leadership opportunity in our office called the Peer Advocate. Peer Advocates will support the RL&L JEDI initiatives through large-scale event coordination and pop-up style events through the academic year in the residential facilities.

The GARE will serve as a member of the RL&L team, provided with the same access to professional development experiences as our full-time professional team with connection to striving members of leadership in the higher education community.

This assistantship is a 12-month assignment (July 1 – June 30) expected to work 20 hours weekly, with an opportunity for annual reappointment.

Review the GARE job description and apply by emailing [email protected] your cover letter, resume and contact for three references.
