“Neoliberalism and the Illiberal University” – a virtual presentation Monday, May 10

As part of the Faculty Senate’s initiative to explore ways to use the curriculum to promote antiracism, the Academic Affairs Committee of the Senate is pleased to announce that Dr. Rodney Coates, professor of Critical Race and Ethnic Studies, Global and Intercultural Studies at Miami University, Ohio, will be giving a virtual presentation, “Neoliberalism and the Illiberal University,” in which he will be discussing what decolonization of a curriculum is and why it is important. Dr. Coates has a record of scholarship which spans three decades and includes numerous published peer-reviewed articles, books, book chapters and collections. In July of 2020, SAGE Publishing presented:A 12 Step Program for Decolonizing the University: A conversation with Dr. Rodney Coates.”

His presentation is scheduled for Monday, May 10, from 2-3 p.m. and will be followed by a 45-minute Q & A session.
