Weekly Update: COVID-19 Testing, plus New Guidance from CDC on Masks
A recap of Wednesday’s Weekly Update from the Safer Campus Task Force:
• Stetson University’s face covering policy requires the wearing of a cloth face covering on all Stetson campuses, including all indoor and outdoor spaces. In the latest CDC guidance, the agency cited new scientific research that shows masks also help protect the wearer from airborne droplets. The new guidance also reiterated individual and community benefits are significantly increased in communities where people use masks consistently and correctly. We continue to ask the Stetson community to abide by on-campus safety guidelines and remain vigilant about necessary precautions while off campus, including avoiding indoor parties without masks, social events, and bars and restaurants, to help protect themselves and the community.
• Stetson will be offering free rapid antigen COVID-19 testing on Friday, Nov. 20. Testing will take place from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Rinker Field House in the Hollis Center and is available to students and employees. This testing is not mandatory, but highly encouraged for the safety and well-being of the entire Stetson Community. Sign up here for your appointment.
