Cyber Security – Submit Phishing Emails

We are excited to announce a new tool to help protect you and Stetson University from the notorious cyber-attacks we hear about weekly. The new tool is called the “Phish Alert” button that will be automatically installed in Outlook and Office 365 email.

If you receive a suspicious email, you can report the email to the Information Technology department by clicking the Phish Alert button in Outlook or Office 365. By reporting phishing emails, proper steps can be taken to block senders as well as remove malicious messages from the inboxes of affected users.

We encourage all faculty, staff and students with Windows Outlook to use the Phish Alert button.

To use the button in Outlook:

  1. Select the suspicious email and press the “Phish Alert Report” button.
  2. Confirm your submission by pressing the “Submit Email” button
  3. A copy of the message will be automatically sent to I.T. that we can use to evaluate and respond appropriately.
