Economic Development: Faculty/Partner Mixer

Calling all faculty passionate about economic development and community engagement!

Next Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 5-7 p.m., the Center for Community Engagement is hosting our first faculty/partner mixer of the semester, as part of our semester-long series. This mixer will be focused on economic development, and is a great opportunity to have conversations with our community partners that have work centered around this issue, potentially forming connections for future coursework with your students and partners.

Partners that will be attending include West Volusia Habitat for Humanity, the Spring Hill Resource Center, along with our two AmeriCorps VISTA team members who are working on economic devolvement and annexation within the Spring Hill community.

A part of the CCE’s mission is to have a greater focus on community-engaged courses for the benefit of student learning. Deeper engagement through research, in-field experience, and forming connections beyond the classroom, is essential to Stetson’s experiential learning mission. Our hope is through this mixer, relationships can be developed with partners to aid in the experiential learning process of students, as well as meeting community needs.
The event will be hosted on Zoom and you can register on Givepulse to receive the link.

Please contact Community Partnerships & Operations Manager, Graduate Assistant Ashley Martinez, if you have any questions.
