Career resources available to students and recent grads

Stetson students and recent grads,

Career & Professional Development offers great virtual and upcoming live career resources, including virtual internships, interview software and the EDGE program:

1) Stetson Remote Micro-Internships: Micro-Internships are short-term, paid, professional assignments that are similar to those given to new hires or interns. These remote projects enable both current students and recent graduates to demonstrate skills, explore career paths, and build their networks as they seek the right full-time role. Micro-Internships are used by companies ranging from those in the Fortune 100 to emerging start-ups, and go across departments, including sales, marketing, technology, HR and finance.

2) StandOut: A video-based practice interview platform that allows students and recent graduates to hone their interview skills by responding to questions customized for various career fields. Participants are able to request feedback on interview performance from Career and Professional Development staff, faculty, alumni and employer partners.

Student access will be provided through Hatter Jobs online career portal (SSO) within the next two weeks.

3) EDGE Program 2020:  This will be the second year we have offered the EDGE Program which focuses on assisting 30 financially challenged students who lack financial resources and contact networks necessary to successfully search for jobs or internships. As of right now, the three-day “Orlando Bound” excursion will take place on Oct. 1-3 (fall break) at various Orlando locations and is dedicated to helping students build and practice career readiness skills and expand their circle of contacts through training, practice interviews, and networking sessions with employers and Stetson alumni. Our ultimate goal is for every participant to have a summer 2021 internship or full-time job by the end of spring semester 2021.  We have extended the application deadline to July 17.
