Lock Your Computer Screen
To improve the security of our systems and data, the Stetson Information Technology department will begin to automatically lock a computer after 30 minutes of inactivity starting on May 5. As you may know, you can also protect your data and emails by “locking” your computer each time you step away for a short time. This will safeguard your files and emails while your computer is unattended.
While we strongly encourage everyone to lock your computer if you are away for even five minutes, this change will ensure that machines are locked when left unattended for prolonged periods.
This change will impact only Microsoft Windows computers owned by Stetson, but everyone with a Mac is also encouraged to lock their computer when it is unattended.
