Christian Theology Lecture with Brian McLaren
Brian D. McLaren, author, speaker, activist and public theologian, will deliver the Christian Theology Lecture at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, in the Lynn Presentation Room in the Rinker Welcome Center. A passionate advocate for “a new kind of Christianity”— just, generous and working with people of all faiths for the common good — he is a frequent guest on television, radio and news media programs. He has appeared on All Things Considered, Larry King Live, Nightline, On Being, and Religion and Ethics Newsweekly. His numerous books include A New Kind of Christian; A Generous Orthodoxy; Why Did Jesus, Moses, the Buddha, and Mohammed Cross the Road? and The Great Spiritual Migration. His lecture, titled “Outdoor Theology,” will address the question, “What would it mean for Christian theology to re-adapt to the world outside its walls and windows?”
