What is Greenfeather?
Greenfeather is a long-held tradition at Stetson University that originated in 1952 as an autumn carnival where students raised funds for local charities. Over the decades, Greenfeather has expanded to a week-long event that brings awareness to philanthropy and issues surrounding the DeLand community. During this week, Stetson students, faculty, staff and alumni come together to help raise $10,000 for a local non-profit organization. The Greenfeather initiative is lead by the Director and Committee Members who plan events and education for the Stetson Community to promote fundraising for the chosen nonprofit.
As a student employment position, the Greenfeather Director works approximately 6 hours per week and chairs the Greenfeather Committee. Applications for the Director position are due no later than Jan. 20, 2020.
The Greenfeather Committee is a leadership position with a smaller time commitment than the Director position. Serving on the committee requires approximately 3 hours of commitment per week. We are currently recruiting for six open committee positions: Airwaves Coordinator, Education Coordinator, Faculty & Staff Liaison, Fundraising Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator and Team Recruitment Coordinator. Applications for the Committee are due no later than Feb. 10, 2020.
