Fall Water Symposium
The 2019 Fall Symposium: The State of Our Water will take place on Friday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wayne G. Sanborn Center located at 815 S. Alabama Ave. in DeLand. Presented by the Volusia Water Alliance in partnership with the Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience at Stetson, the City of DeLand, Blue Spring Alliance, St. Johns Riverkeeper and others, the purpose of the Symposium is to educate the community about conserving and protecting our invaluable water resources. The program will feature short presentations by local leaders and experts on the problems we face, possible solutions and recent successes. It will also feature a keynote presentation by award-winning environmental journalist Dinah Pulver entitled “Parting the Waters: Will it Take a Miracle to Save Our Water?” There will be free plants, mugs and seeds, as well as civic, environmental and educational organizations with a wealth of information and resources to help citizens be good environmental stewards
Advance registration is required. Cultural Credit will be available. There is no charge for admission and an optional catered lunch is available for $12.
